Editorial Policy — How We Write & Fact-Check | TadiSim
Our basic rule
We don't publish anything we wouldn't send to a friend who's landing in Hanoi tomorrow.
That means no fluff, no copy-pasted specs, and no pretending we tested an eSIM in a city we've never been to. If we write it, we stand behind it.
Who writes this stuff
Our blog posts and guides are written by our team — people who actually live in Vietnam or travel through it regularly. We don't outsource content to writers who've never held a Vietnamese SIM card.
When we quote a team member, we use their real name and role. When we cite an external source, we link to it. No anonymous "experts."
How we fact-check
-
Speed tests: We run them ourselves. On real phones. In real locations. We use Speedtest by Ookla and occasionally OpenSignal. We note the date, time, location, and weather (rain affects signal, especially in the mountains).
-
Pricing: We check competitor pricing weekly where possible. If we quote a price, we include the date we last checked. Prices change — we do our best to catch it.
-
App compatibility: If we say something works with Grab or a banking app, someone on our team has actually installed the app and received an OTP on our eSIM. We don't assume.
-
Regulations: For visa rules, immigration forms, or legal requirements, we cross-check with official Vietnamese government sources or reputable legal databases. When in doubt, we say "check with your embassy."
How often we update
-
Product pages: Updated immediately when pricing or data allowances change.
-
Comparison posts: Reviewed every 30-60 days. If a competitor changes their offering, we update the table and note the change at the top of the post.
-
Travel guides: Reviewed quarterly. Restaurants close, scams evolve, and Grab promo codes expire. We try to keep up.
-
Technical guides: Updated when iOS or Android releases affect eSIM installation. We test on the latest OS versions.
Corrections
We mess up sometimes. When we do, we fix it and note the correction at the bottom of the post with the date. If it's a significant error (wrong price, wrong network info, broken link to a critical resource), we update the "last updated" badge at the top immediately.
Money and conflicts of interest
-
Affiliate links: If we ever use them, we'll mark them clearly. As of now, we don't run affiliate links on our comparison posts because we think it looks dodgy when you're comparing yourself to a competitor and getting paid by one of them.
-
Sponsored content: We don't do it. If that changes, it'll be labeled in giant letters at the top.
-
Reviews: The testimonials on our site are from real customers. We don't write them ourselves. We don't edit them except for typos or profanity.
AI and automation
We use grammar tools (like Grammarly) because Tuan's English is better than mine but still not perfect. We don't use AI to write our travel guides or reviews. The opinions are human. The mistakes are probably also human.
